Barcelona shortlists 8 players to sign as Sergio Busquets’ replacement

Barcelona have reportedly drawn up a superb eight-man shortlist to replace captain Sergio Busquets after the midfielder announced his decision to leave the club at the end of the season.

Barcelona manager Xavi is keen to sign a top defensive midfielder this summer to replace Busquets.

As per a report in Argentine outlet Ole, Manchester City’s Ilkay Gundogan is at the top of the wishlist.

Gundogan will become a free agent in the summer and reportedly has a contract offer from Barcelona on his table.

The report added that Chelsea’s N’Golo Kante is another free agent Barcelona is keen on signing and is working on getting an agreement done this summer.

Other players on Barcelona’s list are Fiorentina’s Nordin Amrabat and Inter Milan’s Marcelo Brozovic.

Martín Zubimendi, Hugo Guillamón, and Nico González are the other names mentioned in the report. Ruben Neves is also
reported to be a target for the Blaugrana, but Xavi is not interested in signing the Wolverhampton star.
