Gov Umahi sacks 17 permanent secretaries, re-appoints others

Governor of Ebonyi State, David Umahi, on Saturday, sacked seventeen (17) permanent secretaries.

The sack of the affected permanent secretaries was done two (2) days to the inauguration of the next administration led by the All Progressives Congress, APC, Governor-elect, Francis Nwifuru.

Umahi announced the sack of the permanent Secretaries during a valedictory session of the State executive council, that took place at the new government house, Centenary city, Abakaliki capital of Ebonyi state.

He, however, retained fifteen (15) permanent secretaries to work with the incoming administration led by Francis Nwifuru.

The outgoing Governor also retained the Head of service, HOS, Mrs. Rita-Mary Okoro, SSA on religious and welfare matters, Rev. Fr. Abraham Nwali, commissioner for works and transport, Mr. Ogbonna Abara and the commissioner for Aviation and Technology, Mrs. Obianuju Alo, to work with the incoming governor, Francis Nwifuru.

Umahi also appointed special assistant on Airport project, Frank Ngwu, commissioner for trade and Investment, Mrs. Chioma Nweze as consultants for the state government for a period of 3 months.
