Singer Selena Gomez tests positive for COVID-19

Popular American singer, Selena Gomez, on Wednesday announced that she had tested positive for COVID-19.

The singer made the announcement on her Instagram story, where she shared a photo of herself lying on a couch.

She stated that she was scheduled to get her COVID-19 vaccine booster this week before she got tested positive.

Gomez, who was to appear on Jimmy Fallon’s ‘Tonight Show’ on Wednesday night cancelled her show appearance due to her diagnosis.

“I’m not going to be on Fallon tonight. I ended up getting covid but I’m resting and feeling okay,” the 30-year-old wrote.

She stated that her diagnosis was a “friendly reminder” that COVID-19 was still “out there.”

Gomez further advised her fans to get their COVID-19 vaccines and boosters.

The singer added, “A friendly reminder that covid is still out there. Get updated on your boosters. I was actually scheduled to get mine this week. Love you all.”

Prior to her diagnosis, Gomez was set to appear on the late-night show to promote her upcoming documentary titled ‘Selena Gomez: My Mind & Me’.

The documentary will give Gomez’s fans a glimpse into her mental health journey over the years.

In August, Gomez featured on Rema’s ‘Calm Down’ remix which was released after the duo was spotted kissing in Los Angeles.
