Spain are through to the final of the ongoing FIFA Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.

This follows the conclusion of Tuesday’s semi-final fixture between Spain and Sweden.

Spain had defeated Sweden 2-1 in the semi-final encounter today to book a place in the Women’s World Cup final.

Salma Celeste Paralluelo Ayingono and Olga Carmona scored second-half late goals to ensure Spain defeated Sweden.

Rebecka Blomqvist did score a goal for Sweden against Spain at Eden Park.

The result means Spain will now take on the winner between Australia and England in the Women’s World Cup final this weekend.

Australia and England will clash in the other semi-final fixture on Wednesday.
